Music Night Empty
PostSubject: Music Night   Music Night EmptySat Jun 12, 2010 10:22 pm

Starting June 18th, 2010, we will be having a "DJ Night" where one person will play their music over Team Speak 3 in the DJ channel. While 'talking' will be prohibited, you may chat using the chat box at will.

I will start the first one tonight, but it will officially start June 18th. If you wish to DJ a night, please PM me the night you wish to DJ and the type of Music you will be playing.

What program would you use to play the music over mic so it doesn't get distorted? I know I have a program for my left 4 dead called HLDJ that can play music over chat. It requires the files to be in PCM mono 16 bit 11025 kHz. I wonder if yours are like that ?

You need a sound card that supports sending sound through a program. In other words, my sound card has a setting that allows me to select "Out put" as my "Input."

Most sound cards do not support this feature, and the lower ones usually support it but crappy at best. Basically, high end sound cards are needed for "undistorted sound." [ Caution: ALL SOUNDS THAT YOU HEAR FROM YOUR SPEAKERS WILL BE SENT AS WELL! ]

Also, it depends on the driver version as well. Since I updated my driver, the sound is crappy compared to the version to what was played over teamspeak before.

In essence, high end sound card + correct drivers = Undistorted, nearly flawless sound

Edit: I used WINAMP/WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER and MP3/WMA files Smile

Ok here's what I got so let's see if they are up to the task.
I have an Creative Xfi Titanium Fatality Pro. Is that high end enough ?

I also did a major upgrade for my sound system.

Denon - 500W 5.1-Ch. A/V Home Theater Receiver

Klipsch - HD Theater 500 5.1-Channel Home Theater Speaker System with Powered Subwoofer

I connect a Tos link cable from the sound card into the receiver. I also watch blu-rays on this. LOL

I would have to TeamViewer you to be sure, but Creative sound cards are pretty good.
